This morning, the Egyptian Red Crescent launched the 92nd convoy of “Zad Al-Izza … From Egypt to Gaza”, carrying urgent humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. This initiative forms part of Egypt’s ongoing efforts as the national mechanism for coordinating aid to Gaza.
The 92nd convoy delivered approximately 9,800 tons of urgent humanitarian assistance, including:
-
5,500 tons of food baskets
-
Over 3,600 tons of essential medical and relief supplies
-
More than 700 tons of fuel
In addition, the convoy addressed winter needs to alleviate suffering among Gaza’s residents, providing:
-
14,300 blankets
-
21,400 pieces of winter clothing
-
15,800 tents for displaced families
The “Zad Al-Izza … From Egypt to Gaza” convoy initiative, launched by the Egyptian Red Crescent on July 27, has so far delivered thousands of tons of aid, including food supplies, flour, infant milk, medical and therapeutic supplies, personal care items, and fuel.
The Egyptian Red Crescent has served as the national mechanism for coordinating and dispatching aid to Gaza from the border since the onset of the crisis. The Rafah crossing has remained partially open on the Egyptian side, allowing continuous delivery of aid. So far, the organization has mobilized over 35,000 volunteers and facilitated the delivery of more than half a million tons of humanitarian and relief supplies through its logistics centers.
