Strengthening Joint Cooperation: Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services Signs a Memorandum of Understanding with Air Arabia

Air Arabia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services on the morning of yesterday, Wednesday, January 7, 2026, with the aim of organizing cooperation between the two parties and offering exclusive discounts to the City’s employees who hold official institutional email addresses. This step contributes to strengthening the partnership and achieving mutual benefits for both sides.
The MoU was signed on behalf of Air Arabia by Dr. Abdulrahman Rashid bin Talieh, Executive Affairs Director, and on behalf of the City by its Director General, Mona Abdul Karim Al Yafie, in the presence of officials from both sides.
An Air Arabia delegation also toured the City’s main headquarters in Al-Badee Suburb (Barashi area), visiting Al-Wafaa School for Capacity Development and the Sharjah Autism Center, to learn about the services, programs, and activities provided by the City to its students with disabilities, in accordance with international best practices.
On this occasion, Dr. Abdulrahman Rashid bin Talieh, Executive Affairs Director of Air Arabia, expressed his deep appreciation and admiration for the City’s world-class level of services, affirming that what the delegation witnessed during the visit was “beyond description.”
He added that it is a pleasure to cooperate with a pioneering and long-established institution such as Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, expressing hope that all community institutions will take the initiative to maintain continuous cooperation with the City in order to support and enhance services provided to persons with disabilities across all fields.
The Air Arabia executive stated that the MoU signed today represents a first step, and God willing, it will be followed by further steps that will achieve additional goals serving the interests of persons with disabilities and the community at large.
For her part, Mona Abdul Karim Al Yafie, Director General of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, affirmed that the City—under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the City—is keen to build fruitful partnerships with local, Arab, and international institutions to continue providing and developing its services in line with the latest standards.
She said that the City’s relationships with governmental and private institutions aim to provide more services to persons with disabilities, to City employees with disabilities, and to City staff in general, noting that the signing of the MoU today reflects the City’s partners’ interest in disability-related issues and their commitment to ongoing cooperation.
She added that, God willing, the near future will witness further cooperation between Air Arabia and the City in providing appropriate and necessary facilities for persons with disabilities, City employees with disabilities, and City employees overall. She also affirmed the City’s readiness to offer training courses, whether in sign language, methods of interacting with persons with disabilities, or other disability-related issues.
