Hossam El-Din El-Amir, Editor-in-Chief of the “Al-Jisr” News Platform, Participates in Community Dialogue on Egypt’s New National Human Rights Strategy
Journalist and media professional Hossam El-Din El-Amir, Editor-in-Chief and General Supervisor of the Al-Jisr news platform, participated in the second workshop of the community dialogue on Egypt’s new national human rights strategy (2026–2030). The workshop was organized by the Egypt Capacities Foundation in cooperation with the Al-Mahrousa Foundation for Development and Participation.
The workshop included extensive discussions evaluating the current national human rights strategy (2021–2026), analyzing strengths and challenges, and proposing recommendations and interventions to be considered in drafting the new strategy, ensuring the promotion of rights and freedoms with greater inclusivity and sustainability.
During his participation, Hossam El-Din El-Amir emphasized that community dialogue is a key pillar in developing effective human rights policies, highlighting the importance of involving media and civil society in shaping the new strategy to ensure that citizens’ voices—especially those of vulnerable groups—reach decision-making circles.
El-Amir stated:
“Professional and responsible media is a fundamental partner in supporting human rights, not only through coverage but also by providing platforms for dialogue, monitoring the implementation of strategies, and measuring their impact on the ground.” He added that the next phase requires an informed media discourse on rights, based on knowledge and responsibility.

This workshop is part of a series of preliminary meetings that the two foundations plan to hold in the coming period, paving the way for a deeper community dialogue on the axes of the new national human rights strategy, with participation from experts, human rights advocates, and representatives of political parties and civil society.
